Santa Eugenia

Municipality of the Pla that has three different areas: the southern plain of the Raiguer of the mountains; the mountainous area with gentle surroundings, situated in the eastern part of the Son Seguí or Marron mountains; and the flat area, which extends over the southern half of the municipal area. Its names comes from Bernat de Santaeugenia village -before called Benibazari-, documented as such in 1250 and only as Santa Eugenia village in 1268. One must visit the parish church, ses Alqueries, ses Olleries and ses Coves. The town holds its annual festival on 17th January, Saint Anthony.

  Santa Margalida

The prehistory and old history of this municipality of the Northwest of Majorca are proved by 153 archaeological sites. In the Islamic period the municipal area belonged to the juz' de Muruh. With a traditionally agricultural and ranching economy, in 1950 the project to develop Son Bauló was presented and since 1970 it became a residential tourist centre, which resulted in a tertiary economical activity and in the development of the most secondary sub sectors linked to tourism.

Santa Maria del Camí

It is a medium-sized town, of the Raiguer, with little more than 4000 inhabitants. With 42 documented archeological sites, in the Islamic period it belonged to the juz' de Qanarusa and, after the conquest, the lands of its municipal area were given to Bernat de Santaeugenia. One must visit the historical center, Son Seguí chapel and the Minims' convent. The town holds its annual festival on 20th July and 8th September, in honour of Saint Margaret and Saint Mary, respectively.

  Santanyí

In the interior of this municipal area of the south of Majorca, Santanyí, Calonge, s'Alqueria Blanca, es Llombars and la Costa towns are located, whereas Cala Esmeralda, Cala d'Or, Marina de Cala d'Or, Portopreto, es Cap des Moro, Cala Figuera, Cala Santanyí, Cala Llombars and Cala de s'Almunia are on the coast. The coast is about 35 kilometres long. The large number of archaeological sites - 172 - shows the existence of a productive agriculture and ranching since the pretalayotic and talayotic periods. Any of the aforementioned coves can assure you a special day.

Selva

Located in Serra de Tramuntana, this municipality has more than 3000 inhabitants. It was called Silbar by the Arabs and Silva by the Romans. The parish church, the old center, Consolació sanctuary and the Botanicactus are more of this town's offers to its visitors. Concerning its annual festivals, in Caimari population center the third Sunday in November they celebrete the Fira de s'Oliva, besides the tradtional pancaritat in Fornassos recreational area. In Selvacenter, they celebrate the Fira de ses Herbes on 24th June.

  Sencelles

Located between the Pla and the Raiguer, the lands of this municipality are part of the wine region with the guarantee of origin and quality Binissalem. With many centers of population around it that house sights as the parish church , the chapel and Cas Canar, Binifat, s'Era, Son Fred and s Velar old houses. Sister Francinaina Cirer's birthplace, on 27th February the town holds its annual festival in her honour.

Sineu

Rural town par excellence, with around 3000 inhabitants. The hospice and Sant Josep's oratory are two very appealing spots. The Hospice, built in 1240, was the first hospital built far from Majorca's county town. The oratory, which dates from 1630, is located beside it. The present-day Concepció's convent (before it was the Palau) was the old royal palace and possibly a Muslim fortress. The town holds its annual festival on 24th April (Saint Mark), although, the May Fair is of special interest.

  Sóller

Municipality of the Serra Tramuntana, with a population of nearly 12000 inhabitants and tending to increase after the opening, in 1997, of the Soller tunnel, what has contributed to its inclusion in Palma's metropolitan area. It has a tourist train that links Palma to the Port de Sóller. The parish church, the old town, Can Prunera, sa Capelleta an Immaculada's oratory are spots of interest to tourists, the same as the Valentes Dones festival, in May, and the folk exhibition in July. Nature lovers must visit the Museu Balear de Ciencies Naturals. Sóller is also know as the orange trees' valley.

Son Servera

Small farming centre turned into a noticeably tourist municipality, that is why most of its economical activity centres on the service sector. Located between Capdepera, Arta and Sant Llorenc des Cardessar towns, it has around 10200 inhabitants. We should highlight Na Gatera en Pula talayotic settlement.

  Valldemossa

Municipality of the Serra de Tramuntana, bordering Deia, Bunyola, Palma, Esporles and Banyalbufar municipal areas, is located in a privileged site, full of olive and almond trees, rich in springs and with plentiful and thick vegetation. This town, internationally known, has inspired George Sand, Frederick Chopin, Rubén Darío, Azorín and Miguel de Unamuno, among others. In its streets, narrow and steep, one has a feeling of being in old times. One must visit the Cartoixa. which dates from the fourteenth century and where Chopin some of his plays, the monastery, the parish church, with fresco paintings by Brother Miguel Bayeu, Goya's brother-in-law, and the Palau del Rei Sancho, from the fourteenth century. In the town the house where Santa Catalina Thomas, the town's patron saint, was born, is preserved.

Villafranca de Bonany

Municipality of the Pla that borders on Manacor, Saint Joan, Porreres and Petra municipal areas. The urban area spread out to the food of the Puig de Bonany. Sant Martí estate (the most important one) was built before the town's formation. In the 60s, the farmer began to sell their products directly to the consumer, custom that is kept since it is usual to find places that sell farming product on the sides of the road.
