Catalonia - Beach Blug Flags 2009

Catalonia offers a set of beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean sea with great attraction for tourists from around the world. Catalonia 2009 obtained a total of 108 blue flags for their beaches and marinas.

Spain remains the leading blue flags

Spain has 571 blue flags this year, 493 beaches and 78 marinas, which remains as the leader of the 34 participating countries of the northern hemisphere, Europe, Canada and Morocco. This fact means that one in six of the 3338 flags are awarded to fly in Spain.

Spain has received this year, 44 more flags than last year for 38 new flags on beaches and new six-ports, an increase comparable to the decline that occurred last year, by tightening the criteria for granting and is approaching the record number of distinctive 2007.
